Hilary H. Patriok-Director of Bands Ms. Patriok is currently in her seventh year as Director of  Bands at Midpark High School.  She served as Assistant Band Director at Midpark for two years previously, where she taught at Ford Middle School along with her duties at Midpark.  Ms. Patriok's duties at Midpark include directing the Marching Band, the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and assisting with the Symphonic Band.  She spends the remainder of her day teaching at Ford Middle School where she teaches bands grades six through eight.  Under Ms. Patriok's baton the Wind Ensemble has received Superior Ratings at District Contest in Class A since 2005 and received Straight Superior Ratings in Class A at OMEA State Contest in 2008.  The Marching Band has been competing in OMEA Adjudicated events since Ms. Patriok became Director of Bands and has qualified for State Finals in 2006 and 2007. Ms. Patriok earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Baldwin - Wallace College in 1993 and her Masters in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois in 1999.   Kelly Zunic-Assistant Director/Director of Symphonic Bands Ms. Zunic is a currently in her second year of teaching music in the Berea City Schools.  Her current duties include teaching 6th grade, 7th grade and jazz band at Ford Middle School, and teaching Symphonic Band, Music Theory and assisting the Marching Band at Midpark High School.  A graduate of The University of Akron, Ms. Zunic received Bachelor’s degrees in both Music Education and Flute Performance and completed her Masters in Flute Performance in 2007.  She is currently finishing a Masters in Music Education. As a graduate student, Ms. Zunic served as Graduate Assistant of Bands at The University of Akron where she worked closely with all aspects of the band program.  She continues to return to the university to serve as a guest lecturer for a music education summer workshop.  After graduation, she took a position as assistant band and choir director at Fitch High School in the Austintown Local Schools near Youngstown, Ohio.  Ms. Zunic currently teaches a studio of six woodwind students in Akron at St. Vincent – St. Mary High School and its feeder elementary schools.  She has worked closely with this program since 2001.  Along with teaching you can find her performing with the Sounds of Sousa Band, the Medina Community Band and The University of Akron Summer Symphonic Band.
